Newcastle have contacted Bournemouth over a move for Spain Under-21 defender Dean Huijsen, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In a recent podcast, the transfer pundit said the Magpies are aware of the situation surrounding the Spain Under-21 international and have tried to speak to the Cherries before the window reopens.
“The release แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ clause is £50m,” Romano said.
“It is effective from the summer of 2025, clubs can proceed without having to negotiate with Bournemouth.”
“Newcastle have been inform and in constant contact with Bournemouth regarding Dean Huijsen’s situation,”
The Spanish defender joined Andoni Iraola’s side for just £12.6m from Juventus last summer. And has impressed in his first season in England.
Huijsen has made 19 Premier League appearances this season and has been part of a defence that has conceded just 29 goals – only the top two sides, Liverpool and Arsenal, have conceded fewer.
Given there is almost certain to be competition for many of Newcastle’s top targets – including soon to be out-of-contract Lille forward Jonathan David – they are understood to be compiling both a plan A that includes the possible selling point of European football and a plan B of choices they could sign if they do not qualify.
That process remains at an early stage but with more clarity over their available finances, the Magpies know they can compete for the likes of the coveted Huijsen – which is some consolation after a difficult 18 months from a recruitment perspective.
